The same Beasts roar everywhere

I came across this article by Nigerian Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. The context of the article is bloody protests that were held against the Miss Universe contest being hosted by Nigeria in 2002. Most of what he has written is greatly applicable to the Indian scenario as well.

Yeah....the parallel is the growing intolerance in India....the instances you cited are just one of the many....the parallel lies in this para that Wole writes about Nigeria being exactly applicable to our state:

"The pattern has become wearisomely familiar -- an imagined slight or disrespect, even governmental failure to promptly acquiesce in unreasonable demands that infringe on the civic rights of others, and the response is violence unleashed on an unsuspecting populace!"
