The 10 km run

I ran the Sunfeast 10 km run today. My timing was 64 min, my best so far. What made me feel good was that I ran for 8 out of the 10 km.

But, I also realized today, that I have a long way to go before I can run well in the Half-Marathon in Sep. Walk-run-walk-run is no charm. What gives a sense of achievement, and indeed what is difficult, is to run the whole hog.

I randomly stumbled upon your blog when searching for Dr. Rajat's... but reading your post on the 10K I can just say that a half marathon is totally do-able in the Sept. timeframe. Given your timing of 64 minutes, you're close to a 10.5 minute mile, which means that you should aim for a 2:15 finish for the 21K. I've been in the exact situation (an ironically am looking to run a full marathon in Sept. :)) and clocked a 2:10 a few years ago for my half marathon.

Happy running. And perhaps see you at an RLF event sometime...

I was also there, :D, but I was worst than you about 10 minutes extra. But it does give a sense of achievement.

Yups lets target September.
